Hello there and welcome to the April issue of BS8 Direct, a chunkier volume than last month and a
bit more in it. Towards the back of the magazine you will find a “What’s On & Community News”
section where each month I hope to include details of local events that readers might be interested
in. This is free to use, so if you are involved in a local club, society, school, charity, PTA, theatre group etc and would benefit from some free publicity for your events or activities then please do get in
touch and I’ll happily include your details next month.
As promised in March, this month's issue includes a walk around the Clifton Village area which forms
the basis of a prize competition. I hope we have a return to last weeks weather for those trying out
the walk. I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together and discovered parts of Clifton I never knew
existed. On the subject of prizes there is a competition wordsearch on page 28 for children (of all
ages) with great edible prizes to win, so why not have a go if you are up for the munch. There is even
a prize photo competition within these pages - spot where I was from the photo on page 26 and you
could win a couple of lovely books with a local theme.
The BS8 Direct is funded by the local businesses who are kind enough and positive enough to
advertise in its pages, so without them it wouldn’t be around for long. I’m pleased to day there are
several new advertisers on board this month, and there is now quite a broad range of businesses and
services featured, all pretty local and not a multinational paying big bonuses among them. So
hopefully you’ll find a local trader able to help you out when the need arises.
Finally I hope you have a great Easter, and indeed St George’s Day on the 23rd, and I’ll see you in
May.
